Pound cake very tasty - the only thing I’d say that of at lunch. Carrots ok (but I like my carrots with crunch, or roasted). Broccolini probably the best item, but a little tough. But it was truly good, more than I can say about everything elseĬhicken for lunch, passable but bland. Croissant-Gruyère bread pudding was the tastiest thing I had including lunch (but would have rather had lower calorie options). No berries, other than a green salad with berries. It doesn't mean I like what has transpired.Īrrived at 11:15, breakfast ending, no more eggs. Removing the food so early - that I don't give a pass.ġ) Offer jobs, but tell the applicants that you're hired, but you won't start until some date uncertain when we've got enough staffing for a full opening (causing those hired to find other jobs in the interim period) orĢ) Offer jobs, start the payroll at time of hiring but not opening until some uncertain date when there's enough staffing for a full opening orģ) Offer jobs, open when staffed enough for limited hours, and then expand hours when able.ĪX didn't have a lot to gain, and a lot to lose by what has transpired. I expect that will change in short order. Finding labor to fully staff from scratch for even $20 an hour at an airport job is no easy feat. As far as hours, I'm inclined to give AX a short term pass. So not only does lounge itself close 4-5 hours before it should be, you’re basically losing an hour of service before closing, and that’s all after waiting over a year due to the false excuse of “construction” as a lame reason to keep the lounge closed.Īmex needs to get their act together here, it’s beyond unacceptable.Given how airport contracts, construction defects, permitting, parts and construction labor availability, and so on and so on, and what might have been a behind-the-scenes colossal HVAC blunder, I'm inclined to give AX a pass on the construction issue. The lounge closes at 430 but food and beverages are cleared away long before then, starting around 345-4. Glad to see the space has finally reopened after 2+ years!Ībsolutely ridiculous. Everything else seems identical to how I remember it back in March 2020. The Exhale Spa room was still closed, but two massage chairs were setup in the rearmost lounge room. Decent enough looking roasted chicken was also available at the salad bar. Made myself a salad with some gem lettuce, mozzarella, and roasted carrots. Cocktail list seems unchanged - I enjoyed the Private Plane (their interpretation of the Paper Plane). Was offered a jar of matcha energy gummies as a reopening day gift and was able to book a back massage upon entry (plenty of appointment availability midday). Hopefully the full lounge stays open much longer this time around!ĪMEX app showed the lounge as "Mostly Full" at noon, but it was probably just under half full inside. Coincidentally, I had also visited on the original opening day back in March 2020. I just happened to be passing through LAX on Wednesday (6/15) with a long United connection and made the ~1mi walk from T8/T7 to the Centurion Lounge.
